NewsPerez-Carrillo Encore Line Expands for Global Aficionados
Author: Inspector X
E.P. Carrillo is set to introduce two new additions to its Perez-Carrillo Encore line, specifically tailored for international markets.
The first offering is the Encore Noir, reminiscent of the recently unveiled Encore Black. Featuring an Ecuadorian wrapper, Nicaraguan binder, and a blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican fillers, this cigar is presented in a single robusto vitola, measuring 5 3/8 x 52, named the Majestic No. 2. Limited to an annual production of 3,000 boxes of 10 cigars each, 2,500 boxes will be distributed to international markets, while the remaining 500 will be reserved for in-store retail events in the U.S., particularly when Jorge Fernandez Maique of E.P. Carrillo is present. Maique, a former executive at Habanos S.A., assumed the role of general manager at E.P. Carrillo in late 2021.
The second release, Edición Unica, showcases a lighter Nicaraguan wrapper alongside a Nicaraguan binder and a filler blend comprising Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, all meticulously aged. The wrapper boasts a minimum of five years of aging, while the binder and filler have been aged for at least a decade. This offering debuts in a 6 x 56 toro gordo size named Solidarios and is limited to 1,500 boxes of 10 cigars, exclusively destined for retailers outside of the United States.
Both cigars are crafted at Casa Carrillo in Santiago, Dominican Republic, and have commenced shipping to retailers. Due to pricing discrepancies across various countries where the cigars will be available, a suggested retail price is not being disclosed. Taxation and legislation are so different between countries that a global MSRP is unachievable.
