NewsJoya Cabinetta Lancero Returns: Limited Edition Elegance Awaited
When Joya de Nicaragua rebranded its Cabinetta Serie as the Joya Cabinetta In 2016, the lancero vitola was discontinued as part of the overhaul. However, in 2024, the slim, elongated size is making a limited-edition comeback, with Joya de Nicaragua announcing its debut at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show later this month.
Juan Martínez, executive vice president of Joya de Nicaragua, expressed, “At every cigar event, the question pops up: ‘What about the Cabinetta Lancero?’ We understand; there’s a certain allure to the elegance and rich experience of a great Lancero, but let’s face it – it’s a niche favourite. So, ‘by popular demand,’ here it is, the Cabinetta Lancero Limited Edition for 2024… and trust us, it’s better than ever!”
Remaining true to the Joya Cabinetta line’s distinctive appearance and blend, the cigar utilizes two wrappers: an Ecuadorian shade-grown leaf that envelops the portion below the band, and a darker, Nicaraguan Habano criollo leaf above the band. Beneath these wrappers lies a Nicaraguan-grown binder and filler, a blend crafted in 2007 by Dr. Alejandro Martinez Cuenca. Described as a creamy, silky, and smooth smoke with a spicy kick in the final third.
Production is highly limited, with only 1,000 boxes of 20 cigars available globally. In the U.S., pricing is set at $9.95 per cigar and $199 per box. The cigars are scheduled to commence shipping shortly after the trade show, taking place from March 23-25 in Las Vegas.
The Joya Cabinetta line will continue to offer three regular production sizes: a 5 1/4 x 46 corona gorda, a 5 x 50 robusto, and a 6 x 52 toro.
