Gurkha has announced a partnership with boxing legend Mike Tyson for an upcoming cigar line set to debut at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show later this month.

The line will introduce two distinct blends. The maduro variant, packaged in a black box, boasts a Mexican San Andrés maduro wrapper, Cameroon binder, and a filler blend of T13, corojo, and broadleaf tobaccos, although specific countries of origin remain undisclosed. Meanwhile, the habano offering, presented in a gold box, showcases an Ecuadorian habano wrapper, Indonesian binder, and a filler blend comprising criollo 98 and Nicaraguan tobacco.

Described as medium-bodied with full flavour profiles, the Tyson 2.0 Undisputed Habano promises earthy undertones with hints of pepper, toast, and spice, while its Maduro counterpart offers sweetness from the San Andres wrapper complemented by notes of dark chocolate and peppery spices.

Both blends will be available in 6 x 54 toro gordo and 7 x 60 gordo extra sizes, priced at $19 and $19.90 respectively. Manufactured by El Artista in the Dominican Republic, a longstanding partner of Gurkha, the cigars are expected to retail between $19 and $19.90 per cigar.

PCA Appearance

Jim Colucci, president of Gurkha Cigar Group, Inc., expressed excitement about the collaboration, noting the unique blend selections made in partnership with Mike Tyson’s teams at LGNDS and Carma HoldCo. He also hinted at Tyson’s potential appearance at the trade show. Tyson did appear at InterTabac in Dortmund last year to promote his vape brand.

Similarly, Sozon Lyras of LGNDS conveyed enthusiasm about the collaboration, anticipating future projects under the Tyson 2.0 brand.

Initially limited to 2,000 boxes per size, the cigars are slated for wider distribution in the future, with the first shipments expected in early May.

These are the first cigars endorsed by Tyson, next to his line of marijuana and his vapes.
