Alongside the unveiling of the Montecristo Brilliantes, Habanos S.A. introduces a bespoke humidor commemorating the Year of the Dragon.

The Cohiba Tributo presents a select series of Elie Bleu humidors, each housing 55 Cohiba Lanceros. These cigars maintain the classic 7 9/16 (192mm) x 38 lancero size, enhanced with distinctive foot bands. Limited to just 128 numbered units, these humidors are designated exclusively for the Asian market, with precise distribution details yet to be disclosed.

“China stands as a cornerstone market for our endeavours, alongside the broader Asia Pacific region,” stated José María López Inchaurbe, Vice President of Development, and Jorge Pérez Martel, Commercial Vice President of Habanos S.A., in a press release. “In honour of this significant occasion, we enlisted Cohiba, globally renowned among Habanos brands, and its quintessential vitola, Lanceros. Furthermore, our collaboration with Elie Bleu adds an element of exclusivity, tradition, and elegance to these humidors.”

As of now, pricing remains undisclosed.

Moreover, in conjunction with this humidor release, special Year of the Dragon humidors featuring either Cohiba Shorts or Trinidad Shorts are available, catering to markets worldwide. These are the same machine-made cigars as in the normal packaging, but because of the fancy box, they are double the price. Habanos did the same for the Year of the Ox and the Year of the Tiger.

It’s only a few years since Habanos joined the growing number of cigar companies that celebrate the Chinese zodiac calendar. It started with the Romeo y Julieta Maravillas for the year of the rat in 2020, then the Hoyo de Monterrey Primaveras for the year of the ox in 2021, H. Upmann Magnum 52 for the year of the tiger in 2022 while last year, Habanos released the Cohiba Siglo de Oro for the year of the rabbit.
