Colibri has built a strong reputation within the cigar community, with its focus on innovative design and high-performing cigar accessory products. Colibri is essentially a household name for many cigar aficionados. It’s for this specific reason that the Colibri Julius lighter appears to be a misstep when it comes to design.

Colibri has made a name for itself by producing innovative and unique products, such as the Quasar series of lighters and cutters. The Quasar cutter, for instance, features a skeleton dual-blade system that fits more in line with the brand’s history and ethos. With this as a backdrop, the Colibri Julius lighter feels out of place for two reasons.

The first reason is that the Julius lighter quite obviously takes a lot of inspiration from brands such as S.T. Dupont. The second reason is that the overall design doesn’t fit the art deco style that Colibri has become known for. The Julius lighter is rather muted and undistinguished. It’s for these reasons we decided to review the lighter and also compare it to an S.T. Dupont lighter in our latest video.

Having said that, despite the issues related to the design of the lighter, the Julius does one thing right, and that is it performs incredibly well.

Check out the full video linked below to see how it performs and compares against the S.T. Dupont lighter.
