Tabacalera La Alianza, the Dominican factory where Ernesto Perez-Carrillo crafts his renowned cigars, including two recipients of the prestigious Cigar of the Year title, has undergone a name change and is now known as Casa Carrillo.

Looking ahead, Perez-Carrillo emphasizes the significance of the new name: “As we set our sights on the future, Casa Carrillo embodies our rich heritage, forward-thinking vision, and unwavering commitment to tradition.” Explaining the rationale behind the change, he notes, “While maintaining our steadfast dedication and premium quality, we recognized that our previous factory name didn’t fully encapsulate our legacy and our flagship cigar brand E.P. Carrillo. Casa, meaning ‘home,’ reflects the heart of our operations, where our iconic brands are not just crafted but nurtured with familial care. Carrillo isn’t merely a name; it symbolizes a legacy spanning over 50 years of unparalleled craftsmanship and dedication within the cigar industry. We eagerly anticipate continuing to produce exceptional cigars under the E.P. Carrillo brand and fostering collaborations with both current and future private label partners.”

Award Winning Cigars

Situated within a free trade zone in Santiago, Dominican Republic, the factory has served as the cornerstone of Perez-Carrillo’s cigar production for nearly 15 years, with the lease signed in April 2009. Over the years, it has churned out an impressive array of cigars, including the acclaimed E.P. Carrillo Encore Majestic, honoured as Cigar of the Year in 2018, and the esteemed E.P. Carrillo Pledge Prequel, named Cigar of the Year in 2020. In addition to crafting his own blends, Perez-Carrillo also undertakes contract work for Crowned Heads.
