Duty-free allowances worldwide. Last December, we published a number of articles on the different duty-free allowances worldwide. And published a complete list of all the allowances worldwide. But with the vacation period around the corner, it’s time to refresh your memory.
The regulation is all over. Within the E.U. the regulation is streamlined. With the exception for the overseas territories as the Antilles islands and the British Channel Islands. And since there is no definitive Brexit on the moment of writing, the E.U. regulations are still in force for the United Kingdom. But be aware, those are E.U. regulations and not all European countries are part of the E.U.
So before you grab your stash of cigars and jump in your car, caravan, or get in an airplane, check the list to see how many cigars you can bring into your destination country duty unpaid. That might save you a lot of trouble at the border.
Afghanistan
Afghanistan is one of the counties that has not set a strict number or weight on the duty-free allowance of tobacco. The duty-free regulations on cigars
Albania
Albania is not a member of the EU. Albania allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos to be brought in without duty paid.A
Algeria
Algeria has an allowance of 50 cigars.
American Samoa
American Samoa does have the same allowance as the United States, 100 cigars.
Andorra
Andorra is not a member of the EU. Andorra allows visitors to bring in 75 cigars or 150 cigarillos to be brought in without duty paid.
Angola
Angola as a duty-free limit of 500 grams of cigars or cigarillos.
Anguilla
Anguilla is a British territory and has the same allowance as the U.K. 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Antigua & Barbuda
Antigua & Barbuda have a duty free limit of 50 cigars.
Argentina
Argentina has an allowance of 25 cigars.
Armenia
Armenia is not a member of the EU. Armenia allows visitors to bring in 10 cigars or 400 cigarillos to be brought in without duty paid
Aruba
The tropical Dutch territory Aruba, where Aruhiba cigars are made, has a lower duty-free limit than The Netherlands. Only 25 cigars or 50 cigarillos are allowed to be brought in duty-free.
Australia
Australia as a low duty-free limit, only 25 grams of cigars or cigarillos.
Austria
Austria is a member of the EU. Austria allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Azerbaijan
Azerbaijan is not a member of the EU, geographically it’s not even located in Europe but since it’s a member of the Council of Europe we decided to include it on the European list. Azerbaijan is one of the countries that doesn’t measure in numbers when it comes to duty-free allowance but in weight. Visitors have a duty free allowance of 1000 grams of cigars.
Bahamas
The duty-free allowance of the Bahamas is 50 cigars.
Bahrein
Bahrein allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 250 grams in cigarillos to be brought in without duty paid
Bangladesh
Bangladesh allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 250 grams in cigarillos to be brought in without duty paid
Barbados
Barbados has no duty free limit as long as the cigars are for personal use
Belarus
Belarus is not a member of the EU. Just like Azerbaijan Belarus doesn’t measure in numbers of cigars but per weight. The duty-free allowance is 250 grams of cigars.
Belgium
Belgium is a member of the EU. Belgium allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Belize
Belize has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Benin
Benin allows you to bring in 25 cigars or 100 cigarillos duty-free.
Bermuda
Bermuda has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Bhutan
Bhutan is strict on tobacco, tobacco is not sold anywhere in Bhutan. Yet as a visitor, you are allowed to bring in 30 cigars.
Bolivia
Bolivia has a duty free limit of 50 cigars.
Bonaire
The Dutch Caribbean island has an allowance of 25 cigars or 50 cigarillos.
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Bosnia & Herzegovina is not a member of the EU. The country has no clear number on cigars you can bring in, it’s 250 gram of cigars or 100 cigarillos, which are measured in numbers to make it more confusing.
Botswana
Botswana has a duty free allowance of 20 cigars.
Brazil
Only 25 cigars are allowed to be brought in duty-free into Brazil
British Virgin Islands
The British Virgin Islands has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Brunei
Brunei has zero tolerance. No allowance of cigars. You can bring some in for personal consumption yet they have to be declared and tax has to be paid.
Bulgaria
Bulgaria is a member of the EU. Bulgaria allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso has a duty free allowance of 25 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Burundi
Burundi has a duty free allowance of 250 grams of tobacco.
Cabo Verde
Cabo Verde has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Cambodia
Cambodia allows visitors to bring in 100 cigars or 400 grams in cigarillos to be brought in without duty paid
Cameroon
Cameroon has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Canada
Canada has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Canary Islands
The Canary Islands are a territory of Spain and Spain is a member of the EU. Yet the quadruple allowance from traveling from another EU member country does not apply here. On the Canary Island, the duty-free allowance is 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos no matter what country you fly in from. All EU members exclude the Canary Islands from the quadruple allowance too.
Cayman Islands
The Cayman Islands have a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos just like the motherland of the United Kingdom.
Central African Republic
CAR Central African Republic has a duty free allowance of 250 cigars.
Chad
Chad has a duty free allowance of 125 cigars or 400 cigarillos
Chile
The duty-free allowance of Chile is 50 cigars or 50 cigarillos
China (People’s republic)
China allows visitors to bring in 100 cigars or 500 grams in cigarillos to be brought in without duty paid.
Christmas Islands
An Australian territory, with the same low duty-free limit of 25 grams.
Colombia
Colombia has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Comoro Islands
The Comoro Islands have a duty free allowance of 100 cigars.
Congo
Congo has a duty free allowance of 1box cigars. But there’s an extra rule, bad news for the female cigar smokers. Only men are allowed to bring in duty-free cigars. Congo is the only country in the world with this sexist regulation.
Cook Islands
A territory of New Zealand but with a wider a duty-free allowance of 20 cigars.
Costa Rica
The fifth premium cigar producer of the world has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Cote d’Ivoire
Cote d’Ivoire has a duty free allowance of 25 cigars.
Croatia
Croatia is a member of the EU. Croatia allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos
Cuba
Cuba is ground zero for cigars. This is where it all began, and according to some, it’s still the best place to grow tobacco and make cigars. To others, it’s nothing but old glory faded away. You can bring 50 cigars into Cuba, duty-free.
Curacao
Part of the Kingdom of The Netherlands. It allows 50 cigars duty-free or 100 cigarillos.
Cyprus
Cyprus is a member of the EU. Cyprus allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Czech Republic
Czech Republic is a member of the EU. The Czech Republic allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Democratic Republic of Congo
DRC has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Denmark
Denmark is a member of the EU. Denmark allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Djibouti
Djibouti has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Dominicana
Not to be mistaken for the Dominican Republic. Dominicana allows 50 cigars duty-free.
Dominican Republic
One box of cigars can be brought to the Dominican Republic duty-free. The customs regulations don’t mention if there is a maximum size to the box.
Ecuador
Ecuador has a duty free allowance of 25 cigars.E
Egypt
Egypt has a duty free allowance of 25 cigars.
El Salvador
You can bring in 25 cigars into El Salvador before you have to pay tax.
Equatorial Guinea
Equatorial Guinea has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Eritrea
Eritrea has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Estonia
Estonia is a member of the EU. Estonia allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland)
Eswatini has a duty free allowance of 20 cigars.
Ethiopia
Ethiopia has a duty free allowance of 250 grams of tobacco.
Falkland Islands
The British territory has an allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Fiji
Fiji has a duty free allowance of 250 grams of cigars or cigarillos.
Finland
Finland is a member of the EU. Yet Finland does not have the same allowance for traveling within the EU as the rest of the EU members. Finland allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid, either from within the EU or without the EU.
France
France is a member of the EU. France allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, or from the French overseas territories Guadeloupe, French Guiana, Martinique and Reunion, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
French Guiana
As the name suggests, French Guiana is a French territory and has the same duty free allowance as France. 50 cigars of 100 cigarillos. The EU members allowance does not apply.
French Polynesia
French Polynesia has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos, just like France. But without the quadruple allowance when traveling from an EU member
Gabon
Gabon has a duty free allowance of 125 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Gambia
Gamba has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Georgia
Georgia is not a member of the EU, geographically it’s not even located in Europe but since it’s a member of the Council of Europe we decided to include it on the European list. The country allowance for cigars is set at 50, both for premium cigars and cigarillos.
Germany
Germany is a member of the EU. Germany allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Ghana
Ghana has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Gibraltar
Gibraltar is a territory of the U.K, located at the south of Spain, overseeing the entry of the Mediterranean Sea. The territory doesn’t have the extra allowance for EU Members, visitors can bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Greece
Greece is a member of the EU. Greece allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Greenland
The Danish territory allows 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos duty-free.
Grenada
The duty-free allowance for Grenada is 25 cigars.
Guadeloupe
Guadeloupe is a French territory and has the same duty free allowance as France. 50 cigars of 100 cigarillos. The EU members allowance does not apply.
Guam
Guam has a duty free allowance of 100 cigars. Just like the U.S.A, of which Guam is a territory
Guatemala
You can bring in 500 grams of cigars or cigarillos duty-free into Guatemala
Guinea
Guinea has a duty free allowance of 250 cigars.
Guinea Bissau
Guinea Bissau duty-free law says “reasonable quantities”. Now what’s reasonable for you, might not be reasonable for the local customs officer, so don’t overdo it.
Guyana
Guayana has a duty free allowance of 227 grams of cigars or cigarillos.
Haiti
Haiti has a 50 cigar allowance duty-free. Anything over has to be declared.
Honduras
One of the top five premium cigar producing countries in the world has a duty free allowance of 100 cigars.
Hong Kong
Even though Hong Kong is part of China, the duty-free allowance is completely different. Hongkong only allows one cigar to be brought in duty-free, or 25 grams of tobacco. If you bring in 25 grams of cigars, you will get a pass.
Hungary
Hungary is a member of the EU. Hungary allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands et. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Iceland
Iceland is not a member of the EU. 250 grams of cigars can be brought in without duty paid.
India
The duty free allowance of cigars in India is set to 25 cigars. Or you can bring in 125 grams of cigarillos.
Indonesia
Indonesia allows 25 cigars or 100 grams of cigarillos to be brought in duty free.
Iran
Just like Afghanistan, Iran duty free allowance for cigars is “reasonable quantities”. So we give the same advice. Cigars aren’t common in Iran, so what seems to be a reasonable quantity to you, might not be for the customs officer.
Iraq
Iraq has a small allowance, only 25 cigarillos or 10 cigars can be imported duty free.
Ireland
Ireland is a member of the EU. Ireland allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands
Israel
Israel allows visitors to bring in 250 grams of tobacco duty unpaid.
Italy
Italy is a member of the EU. Italy allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Jamaica
Jamaica used to be a player in the cigar industry but that a thing of the past. Jamaica has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Japan
When you go to Japan you can bring in 100 cigars or 500 grams of cigarillos duty free for personal consumption.
Jordan
The number of cigars or weight doesn’t matter in Jordan. It’s all about the face value of the cigars. Cigarillos up to 20 JOD (approx 25 euro at the time the article was written) and 70 JOD (approx 85 euro) are allowed in duty free.
Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan is not a member of the EU. Visitors are allowed to bring in 50 cigars or 200 grams of cigarillos into the country before duty has to be paid.
Kenya
Kenya has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Kiribati
Kiribati has a duty free allowance of 225 grams cigars or cigarillos.
Kosovo
Kosovo is not a member of the EU. The allowance for cigars is 50 pieces or 100 cigarillos.
Kuwait
Kuwait has an allowance of 900 grams of tobacco to be brought in duty unpaid.
Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyzstan has an allowance of 50 cigars or 250 grams of cigarillos.
Laos
Laos has an allowance of 50 cigars or 250 grams of cigarillos.
Latvia
Latvia is a member of the EU. Latvia allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Lebanon
Lebanon has an allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Lesotho
Lesotho has an allowance of 20 cigars to be brought in duty unpaid.
Liberia
Liberia allows visitors to bring in 25 duty-free.
Libya
Libya has a duty free allowance of 400 grams of cigars.
Liechtenstein
Liechtenstein is not a member of the EU. The allowance for cigars is 50 pieces or 250 grams for cigarillos.
Lithuania
Lithuania is a member of the EU. Macau
Just like Hong Kong, Macau is part of China yet does not have the lenient duty free allowance of the mainland. 1 cigar or 25 grams of tobacco is allowed duty free.
Macedonia
Macedonia is not a member of the EU. The allowance is 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Madagascar
Madagascar allows 25 cigars duty-free.
Malawi
Malawi has a duty free allowance of 250 grams of cigars.Mali
Malaysia
Malaysia has a duty free allowance of 225 grams of cigars or cigarillos.
Maldives
25 cigars or 250 grams of cigarillos can be brought in without duty paid in the Maldives.
Mali
Mali has a duty free allowance of 250 cigars.
Malta
Malta is a member of the EU. Malta allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands
Marshall Islands
The Marshall Islands has a duty free allowance of 454 grams cigars, that’s 1lbs.
Martinique
The French territory Martinique has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Mauritania
Mauritania has a duty free allowance of 25 cigars.
Mauritius
The duty-free allowance for cigars in Mauritius is 250 grams of cigars.
Mayotte
Mayotte is a French territory and allows the same amount of duty-free tobacco as France, 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos. The EU allowance is not applicable.
Mexico
Mexico allows 50 cigars to be brought in duty-free.
Micronesia
Micronesia has a duty free allowance of 20 cigars.
Moldova
Moldova is not a member of the EU. The allowance for cigars is 50 pieces or 50 cigarillos.
Monaco
Monaco is not a member of the EU. The country has the same duty free regulations as France though and that allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc). Mongolia
Mongolia has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 250 grams of cigarillos.
Montenegro
Montenegro is not a member of the EU. The allowance for cigars is 50 pieces or 100 cigarillos.
Montserrat
This British territory follows the British rules of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos. No exceptions for flights coming in from EU members.
Morocco
Morocco allows 50 cigars or 200 cigarillos to be brought in duty-free.
Mozambique
Mozambique has a duty free allowance of 250 grams cigars.
Myanmar
Myanmar has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 250 grams of cigarillos.
Namibia
Namibia has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars
Nauru
Nauru has a duty free allowance of 500 grams cigars.
Nepal
Nepal has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 20 grams of cigarillos.
The Netherlands
The Netherlands is a member of the EU. The Netherlands allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
New Caledonia
The French territory of New Caledonia has the same duty free allowance as the motherland. 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos. The EU allowance is not at play here.
New Zealand
New Zealand only allows 50 grams of tobacco duty-free. Anything over and you pay a hefty tax.
Niger
Niger allows you to bring in 25 cigars or 100 cigarillos duty-free.
Nigeria
Nigeria has an allowance of 50 cigars.
Niue
Even though Niue is a New Zealand territory, it has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.
Norfolk Island
This Australian territory has the same low duty free allowance as Australia, only 25 grams cigars.
Northern Mariana Islands
An American territory with a duty-free allowance of 1 lbs, 454 grams of cigars.
Norway
Norway is not a member of the EU, although they have access to the European single market through the EEA treaty. Norway hasn’t adopted the EU duty-free regulations on tobacco, only 250 grams of cigars or cigarillos can be brought in for personal use without duties paid.
Oman
Oman has an allowance of 50 cigars to be brought in duty unpaid.
Pakistan
Pakistan allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 500 grams of cigarillos to be brought in duty free.
Palau
You can only bring in 1 cigar into Palau before you have to pay tax.
Panama
We could not find any information about duty-free allowance of cigars in Panama. We reached out to the authorities and we are awaiting an answer.
Papua New Guinea
Papua New Guinea has a duty free allowance of 250g grams of cigars or cigarillos.
Paraguay
You can bring 300 US dollar worth of cigars into Paraguay duty-free.
Peru
Peru has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars.P
Pitcairn Islands
We have no information on the duty-free allowance of this British territory. We reached out to local authorities but are awaiting a reply.
Poland
Poland is a member of the EU. Poland allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Portugal
Portugal is a member of the EU. Portugal allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico has the same duty free allowance as the USA, 100 cigars.
Reunion
Reunion is a French territory and allows the same amount of duty-free tobacco as France, 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos. The EU allowance is not applicable.
Rwanda
Rwanda has a duty free allowance of 250 grams of cigars or cigarillos.
Saba
One of the Dutch overseas islands. It has a smaller allowance than The Netherlands, half of it exactly. 25 cigars or 50 cigarillos.
Saint Barthelemy
Saint Barthelemy is a French territory and has the same duty free allowance as France. 50 cigars of 100 cigarillos. The EU members allowance does not apply.
Saint Kitts & Nevis
Saint Kitts & Nevis has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos
Saint Lucia
Saint Lucia has an allowance of 25 cigars or 50 cigarillos.
Saint Martin
Saint Martin is a French territory and has the same duty free allowance as France. 50 cigars of 100 cigarillos. The EU members allowance does not apply.
Saint Pierre & Miquelon
Saint Pierre & Miquelon has a duty free allowance of 75 cigars and 150 cigarillos.
Saint Vincent & The Grenadines
Saint Vincent & The Grenadines have a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
San Marino
San Marino is not a member of the EU. San Marino copied the EU duty-free regulations though. That allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc). When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.
Samoa

Sint Maarten
Sint Maarten is a Dutch territory. Part of the island is French territory and named Saint Martin. The duty-free allowance is 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos. Since the allowance is the same for the French part, it doesn’t matter where you land on the island.
Slovakia
Slovakia is a member of the EU. Slovakia allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc. When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos.

Solomon Islands

Thailand allows you to bring in 250 grams of cigars duty free.
Timor
Timor has an allowance of 75 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Togo
Togo has a duty free allowance of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.

Turks & Caicos Islands
A British territory. It allows 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos.
Tuvalu
Tuvalu has a duty free allowance of 225 grams cigars or cigarillos.
United States of America
Visitors can bring in 100 cigars duty-free up to a value of 800 US Dollar. Even Cuban cigars can be brought in nowadays, but only for personal consumption.
United Arab Emirates
The allowance for the United Arab Emirates is high, 400 cigars with a maximum value of 4000 AED (approx 945 euro).
Uganda
Visitors are allowed to bring in up to 250 grams of cigars or cigarillos duty-free.
Ukraine
Ukraine is not a member of the EU. The allowance for cigars is 50 pieces or 250 grams of cigarillos.
United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Northern Ireland & Wales)
The U.K is still a member of the EU, even though the Brexit negotiations have started. The U.K. allows visitors to bring in 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos without duty paid when traveling from a non-EU member state, including the territories like the Canary Island, Channel Islands etc). When traveling from another EU member country, visitors are allowed to bring in four times that amount, adding up to 200 cigars or 400 cigarillos. That extra allowance for traveling within the EU is subject to be changed since the U.K. will leave the EU. We will update the article as soon as the results of the Brexit negotiations are in.
Uruguay
Uruguay has a duty free allowance of 25 cigars.

Venezuela
The communist country has close ties to Cuba, yet the allowance of cigars is low with 25 cigars.
Vietnam
Vietnam duty free allowance is 20 cigars or 250 grams of cigarillos.
Wake Island
This American territory has it’s own duty-free allowance. 50 cigars with a maximum value of 150 US dollar can be brought in duty-free.
Wallis & Futuna
This French territory follows the French rules of 50 cigars or 100 cigarillos. No exceptions for flights coming in from EU members.
Western Sahara
This region, formerly Spain, now annexed by Morocco but still an independent region. Since the independence there has been constant turmoil over either being an own independent state or joining Morocco there are no clear duty allowance rules yet. But traveling to Western Sahara is being discouraged by almost any government in the world anyway so does it really matter? For the record, we put it under ‘unknown’.
Yemen
The duty free allowance for Yemen is 60 cigars or 454 grams of cigarillos.
Zambia
The duty-free allowance is 500 grams of cigars.
Zimbabwe
The duty-free allowance for Zimbabwe is unlimited. The only limitations that apply are that the packages have to be open and that the cigars are for personal use.
