Over the last few weeks many cigar companies have announced discontinuations in their portfolio. Companies are looking closely at the number of SKUs they are producing as it’s hard to keep up with the record high demand for premium cigars globally. Add a lack of qualified staff, as many rollers especially from Nicaragua are leaving for the United States and a lack of high-quality tobacco. These circumstances force cigar companies to look closely at what they can produce to meet demand.

Davidoff is the next company that is cutting in its portfolio. 62 SKUs are disappearing and it looks like Camacho is hit hardest in the current wave of discontinuations. The American Barrel-Aged, Coyolar, Criollo and Nicaragua Barrel Aged are completely discontinues while the Box Pressed series in Connecticut, Corojo and Ecuador will see the number of vitolas drop from three to one.

Davidoff brands such as AVO, The Griffins, Cusano, and Zino also see a number of discontinuations, but from the Davidoff lines only the Demi Tasse, a cigarillo, is disappearing.
