    Tatuaje Negociant Monopole No. 4

The name Negociant came from a French term in winemaking. Pete Johnson`s one of the other businesses apart from cigars is exactly that. The cigar is a collaboration between Tatuaje and L`atelier (which is a company in which Pete Johnson is a partner with few other people). Another interesting fact for that cigar, there are 2 binders… unique Mexican San Andres and Nicaraguan one.

    Appearance: Rating: ★★★

Tatuaje has never been famous for his big, shiny and colorful bands. Situation here is not much different, Connecticut wrapper, silky and simple black band.

    Construction: Rating: ★★★★

Razor sharp burn, a lot of smoke production, the only negative point is the very loose draw.

    Flavour: Rating: ★★★★

Cold draw is very open and no resistance at all, the flavours are chocolate and earth.

Together with the enormous smoke production, the first part starts with massive granola taste and flavour, quickly after that grapes sweetness combined with more subtle fruits appear. There is a good amount of earth on retro.

The start of the Negociant second third brings most of the flavours from the first part, there is no dominant flavour but most likely a nice mix of leather and nuts. Nice complex which changes a few more times during this part, chilly flakes and white pepper are part of it.

In the last part pick up some chalky and metallic taste. Good pepper on the back of the throat.

Finishing puffs are way over with earthy notes.

    Value: Rating: ★★★★

Price point on this cigar is around $9, but it’s not available in most shops in the US. If you are after a short and quite interesting, non typical Connecticut, go for that cigar.

    Overall Rating: Rating: ★★★★

Very interesting and unique smoke, great vitola. Short and easy smoke, but have his kick and punch. Not your typical Tatuaje or L`atelier. Great complexity and construction. Don’t need to relight or touch the cigar. Little bit of a loose draw, but might just be the one I smoke.
