Romeo y Julieta Deluxe #2 (Dominican)

Origin : Dominican RepublicRomeo y Julieta
    Format : Corona Grande
    Size : 152 x 20 mm
    Ring : 50
    Weight : N/A
    Price : ~$5/piece

Again, I had a chance to compare Cuban Romeo y Julietas to Dominican ones, and the conclusion is pretty much the same – the Deluxe #2 that was brought to me straight from the Dominican Republic is a high quality cigar with a steady, pleasant flavor that has its own, Dominican, personality.

    Appearance : [rating:4/5]
Pretty well rolled, this cigar had no soft spots. Dark oily wrapper smelled of stables.

    Construction : [rating:4.5/5]
Although the pre-draw was tight, upon lighting, I was able to get sufficient amounts of smoke, which kept increasing. Deluxe #2 burned very well and I never needed to touch it up.

    Flavor : [rating:4/5]
Soft cedar flavors in the beginning grow stronger in the second third; also appear some interesting notes of roasted coffee. The flavors do not change much, I did not observe the “Cuban” kaleidoscope, yet the Dominican Romeo y Julieta’s flavors are not bad at all.

    Value : [rating:4/5]
I guess it’s totally worth the money, if you are looking for a simple, high-quality cigar that would not require you to concentrate on the smoke itself.

The Romeo y Julieta Deluxe #2 is probably great for beginners, who are not used to complex-flavor cigars. More experienced smokers might find that the stick lacks depth and complexity.

I have a box of Romeo and Julieta 125 anniversiry cigars, Churchill’s.
and i have pictures of same. The bands are black with red and gold lettering that says 125.
I purchased them in 2000. Any idea what they are, they are not on any website.

agree, mild-medium, but definitely worth the time and money to smoke…

How is this Deluxe #2 different from the RYJ Bully, which I enjoy as a mild (albeit not too complex) smoke.

This was the first RyJ I’d ever smoked. If you like wood flavors in a cigar, give this one a try.

The Deluxe #2 is not a bad cigar. Fine draw (although tight sometimes), generally nice construction. As for the flavors, they are pretty simple (mostly wood with rare sweet notes) yet enjoyable.
