Panatela is part of the first 3 cigars( together with lancero and corona especiales) released as Cohiba and all 3 from Linea Clasica.
Appearance: Rating: ★★★★
The Color is nice brown and consistent all over, not an oily wrapper. Tiny small veins. The band look a bit oversized
Â
Construction: Rating: ★★★
One of the problems with the cigar was the very tight draw and no combustion around the second third, need to relight couple of times
Â
Flavour: Rating: ★★★1/2
The cold draw is very smooth, the flavour is mix of bread and cedar
The cigar starts off very smooth, and the cedar from the cold draw is now more like dry wood, retrohale is peppery. After half an inch the cigar starts to taste as baked dough.
The second part starts with a couple changes, the smoothness is now moving towards black pepper, and creaminess is on the retrohale. Even with the lack of dough taste, the cigar continues to have that aroma mixed with toast.
Towards the last third the cigar is completely opposite from the beginning, which was creamy and smooth, now is significantly dictated by white pepper. The other flavours appear at the end are black coffee, campfire, perfume and earth.
Value: Rating:  ★★
Can’t give more stars here as the price of £17-18 in UK made that cigar probably the most expensive short panatela in the world, for a 15-20 min smoke and the few issues.
Â
Overall Rating: Rating: ★★★
Flavor Wise interesting cigar, pepper and dough most of the time, construction also not the ideal, price is too much for that kind of cigar.
