As someone who prefers a lighter strength, I was a little worried lighting this one up as I prepared myself with a selection of chocolates and a sugary drink, just in case the nicotine hit me too hard. In fact, what I actually experienced, was nothing short of amazing.
Visually, a great looking stick. In my opinion, Cuban cigars do look boring, especially compared with New World cigars. But the shape, the shade of the wrapper and the band which features Simon Bolivar, a historical figure, looks really good.
The cigar opens up to you very lightly, with notes of cream and some earthy notes. Working your way through, the smoothness of the cream and earthy tones continue, now with added nuts and the slightest of spices.
I expected this cigar to kick me in the stomach a little bit, but I actually found the Bolivar Belicosos Finos to be incredibly inviting and not overwhelming in strength, it’s actually quite a “kind” stick, with a great mix of body and strength, never becoming too much, nor too little.
For this reason, I label the Bolivar Belicosos Finos as my favourite Cuban cigar.

Origin : Cuba Format : Torpedo (Campana) Size : 140 x 20.64 mm Ring : 52 Weight : 12.45 g Hand-Made Price : ~$13/piece
Bolivar Belicosos Finos is a very interesting cigar, I have to say that. Unusual blend.
Appearance : [rating:5/5]
Pretty chocolate wrapper, a lovely smoke.
Construction : [rating:4/5]
A little loose in one spot on this particular one, but for the most part, it held the test of time.
Flavor : [rating:4.5/5]
This cigar is a tough one to describe. The first third came on with a mild woody taste, only a little spice. The second third began to reveal an odd mix of several flavors, wood fruit and spice. Very nice though. The final third came on a bit strong, but not so much you couldn’t enjoy it.
Value : [rating:4/5]
Not a bad value for the price. I’d have to say it fits within the range it is priced at.
Overall Rating : [rating:overall/5]
An excellent smoke with only a minor drawback or two. Overall, I’d say it is well worth it. Likely a good early in the day smoke.

Im sitting on a balcony pre dinner and could not wait to light this. Im glad i did. First third was a full slice of rich chocolate cake, middle third was a dark rum with a cinnamon sprinkle.. the final third i will enjoy after dinner.. though this cigar feels like a good meal in itsself. Better than a monte 2. On par with the partagas P2 in my humble opion.

Good cigar, but strong. Not for beginners.

just had this cigar; it’s a very powerful cigar, stronger then Partagas 4; very full and rich in flavor: cinamon/nutmeg/wood flavor; outstanding in my opinion; very well constructed (the one I had); I’d say it’s like Ch. Latour of Cuban cigars; Partagas #4 being a Mouton Rothschild; Montechristo #2 Haut Brion and Trinidad a Lafite; (I’m still working on that comparison…)

Finished one 10 minutes ago…a good solid smoke, complex and smokes well. Good draw, thick silver smoke. A little too strong near the end. Worth to try, in my opinion.

Smoking these before their 3rd birthday is a waste. Ideally you need to let them hit 5 years to get the most out of them.

It’s a solid smoke, but overall I was unimpressed. There are far better smokes out there for half the cost. The first one that comes to mind is a Dominican H. Upmann.

Bloody well right this is a good old stogie. This here’s a stout little sheila, with enough spice to get you out of bed in the morning. Had a run in my second one, but nothing to fret about. All my mates will be getting one of these for Christmas.

One of my favorite along with the Partagas D4. Strong, powerful and rich flavor – not to be missed.
