Origin: Dominican Republic
Avo is a brand owned by Davidoff and is made in the Dominican Republic, everything is related to the greatest musician Avo Uvezian, who was a huge cigar lover and met Henke Kelner in 1987, since then all his cigars were made there.
Very nice dark brown wrapper and shiny silver lined two bands which contrasted a lot. Artwork on the band is very interesting.
Very firm on touch, slight soft spot in the middle. Burn is impeccable, ash is little bit flaky.
Draw is just perfect with the perfect amount of smoke.
Cold draws have 2 dominating aromas – Chocolate pudding and grass.
Starting with earth and a lot of vanilla, pepper on retro which become stronger and stronger with the time.
Half way through and is very pleasant but not the most complex cigar, no difference on the flavours apart from some spiciness in the mouth.
Towards the end the vanilla is not that strong and there is new dominant flavour of nuts, the earth is still on the background and the pepper is quite strong.
The cigar is part of the sampler called ‘Avo Greatest Hits’ and I never saw it individually for sale. Seen a few times the sampler coming up on auctions and either didn’t sell or sold ridiculously low. If you see one around, buy it.
Another amazing cigar with sun grown wrapper blend is very pleasant and relaxing. Maybe I’m missing a little bit of complexity, but the cigar is almost 10 y old, which might be the reason.
