Winter is coming for The Netherlands
Winter is coming for The Netherlands. Rocky Patel’s winter collection though. It’s too early in the year for a change in the weather. And Game of Thrones is discontinued. But the cigars are expected to arrive in The Netherlands soon. Rocky Patel’s distributor in The Netherlands confirmed that the cigars are ordered and is waiting for the arrival for the new, limited edition.
Winter Collection
Little over a decade ago, Rocky Patel Premium Cigars released a new cigar each quarter. All named after the season. The winter collection returned in 2012 as well. But it went silent since, until recently when the company announced the return of the Rocky Patel Winter Collection. Just like with the other two releases, it’s limited to a couple of thousand boxes only.
Where the old versions were made at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez, the cigars now come from Patel’s factory Tavicusa in Esteli, Nicaragua. The fillers for the cigars hail from Nicaragua and Honduras. Add a Nicaraguan binder and a Mexican San Andres wrapper, and you have the 2020 version of the Rocky Patel Winter Collection. The original release in 2009 had a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper.
Four sizes are offered. The smaller is the Rocky Patel Winter Collection Corona with a size of 5½x42. The robusto measures 5½x50. Then there is a 6½x52 Rocky Patel Winter Collection Toro. Finally, there is a 6×60 Gordo, a size that is almost standard in every new cigar release nowadays. All sizes are on the way to The Netherlands.

Pricing and availability
It is likely that one or more of the sizes will be a Cigaragua exclusive vitola. Cigaragua is the flagship store for Nicaraguan cigars in the museum quarter of Amsterdam. The world’s first and only cigar shop that exclusively sells cigars from Nicaragua.
The Netherlands works with fixed prices. That means that a cigar has a set price, you pay that price in every tobacco store across the country. Prices for the Rocky Patel Winter Collection have not been set yet.
