NewsWest Tampa Cigars Expands Line-Up with Lancero Size Across White, Black, and Red Series
Author: Inspector X
West Tampa Cigars is broadening its product offerings by introducing a lancero size to its existing line-up. This new addition will be available in all three of their regular production lines: the White, the Black, and the Red. Currently, these lines are only offered in specific vitolas and packaged in boxes of 20.
During the InterTabac trade show, Inspector X and Rick Rodriguez discussed the introduction of the lancero size and potential changes to the packaging. Rodriguez expressed his consideration for different box sizes, deviating from the standard 20 count boxes used for the other sizes. However, no final decision had been made at that time.
The West Tampa Red, one of the three lines, features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, which was previously used in the company’s initial Attic Series release. The binder and filler for this cigar are sourced from Nicaragua, although they are different varietals compared to those used in the Attic Series.
The White line utilizes an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper paired with a Nicaraguan binder and filler. On the other hand, the Black line also incorporates an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper, but with a higher priming to achieve a darker color and stronger flavor. Beneath the wrapper, a Nicaraguan binder from the volcanic island of Ometepe is used, along with fillers from Nicaragua’s Condega and Estelí regions.
All of these cigars are meticulously crafted at Garmendia Cigars Co. in Estelí, Nicaragua. The manufacturer has not yet disclosed the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the lancero size. However, international distributors have already been informed of the pricing by the director of global sales and marketing, Stijn Elbersen.
