Cigar News
SpecialsWeekly news week 9 2020
Author: Inspector Z
Weekly news week 9 2020. In week 8 we suggested a new term for boutique. A term that would include cigars brands that are all about tobacco, and exclude the ones that are in it for the money only. That was the reason for the podcast Protecting the Legacy to dedicate an episode to the article. We replied, and will soon be a guest on their podcast. And we published the fifth Soil to Soul Episode.
Reviews and Habanos
This week we reviewed two cigars, as usual. One Dominican cigar, the Bugatti Ambassador Robusto. But we opened the week with the tribute to Sir David Tang. That’s the Punch Sir David, a regional edition for Hong Kong. To stay in the Habanos vibe, Habanos released pictures and details for their 2020 releases. They did that in batches, so we didn’t publish one article about the new Habanos releases but we published a second one as well.
Arturo Fuente and more
The biggest news this week came from The Netherlands. Arturo Fuente distributor Sasja van Horssen is opening a brand new shop in Amsterdam, a few doors down from his Cigaragua shop. And that new shop will sell exclusively Arturo Fuente cigars. Hiram & Solomon are back in Germany with a new distributor. J. Cortes acquired the Oliva Leaf Operations, a few years after the Belgian cigar manufacturer acquired the brand and factories. CAO is releasing the CAO Session in Europe. My Father Cigars is expanding the La Opulencua and My Father The Judge lines. Balmoral is releasing the Balmoral Series Signaturas Dueto in Belgium. And sad news from Denmark. Royal Danish Cigars has to change its name. The Danish Royals have forbidden him to use that name any longer. Finally, there is the list of the cigar industry birthdays in March.
