Weekly news week 32 2020. The week started with a new series. Every first Sunday of the month, a new article in the series is published. A series that pays tribute to the legends of the cigar industry. Living legends, and legends that passed away. The first article is about Jose ‘Don Pepin’ Garcia, a living legend. And we published the 22nd episode of the Philip & Ferdy Cigar Show. The guys smoke a Montecristo Linea 1935 Maltes and pair it with two high-end cognacs from Martell. The Martell Chanteloup XXO and the famous Martell Cohiba Cognac.

We reviewed two cigars as usual. The first is a brand new offering from VegaFina. The VegaFina Fortaleza 2 Andullo. It is named after a special technique to ferment tobacco. The second cigar reviews also hail from the Dominican Republic. It’s the Buffalo Ten Maduro. A toro made by Tabacalera El Artista. And we mourned the passing of Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler. Dr. Eusebio Leal Spengler is a famous Cuban historian who published a lot about Cuba’s national traditions, including Habanos.
New cigars
A number of new cigars are announced in the last week. Fratello is pleasing thee international accounts with the Fratello Sorella. Oliveros is releasing three blends of the Gran Retorno. Those cigars are additionally aged for three years in the box before being released. Adventura is releasing new cigars as well. So does Gurkha, as they bring back a grandfathered line. And finally two new cigars from Ace Prime.
Davidoff releases a limited edition masterpiece humidor. The brand new, and limited, Rocky Patel Winter Collection is on its way to The Netherlands. Meerapfel creates a Cameroon seal of authenticity. Jas Sum Kral is updating the packaging of the Jas Sum Kral Nuggs. And the explosion in Beirut damaged several cigar lounges, but the material damage is nothing compared to the loss of lives.
