Weekly news week 3 2020. To the world of the nonsmoker, tobacco is evil, the devil. Nothing good comes from tobacco. But for us cigar smokers, we know better. And if you’re more informed about the cigar industry, you know how warm the cigar family is. Cigar smokers share, spread love and wealth. So do a lot of cigar manufacturers. There are a plethora of charities, funded by cigars. We are writing a series of articles about those charities.

The News

It’s early January, a slow period for the tobacco industry. There isn’t a lot of news for the international markets. Now in America, there is. Four big cigar companies dropped a bomb by releasing a statement that they will not be attending the PCA trade show. We will give our opinion, as an outsider, tomorrow. Including some suggestions from whom everybody can benefit. The news that we published was about a new director of operations for Casa Cuevas.

More news came from Fratello. Fratello cigars teamed up with La Aurora again. This time for a bundle cigar in three different blends. The Fratello Blu with a Maduro wrapper, the Fratello Rosso with a Habano wrapper. And then there’s the Fratello Verde with a Connecticut Shade wrapper. Available in two sizes only and it is a global release. J.C. Newman is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, and during this milestone year, the company is using a special logo. Daniel Marshall is hosting a modern-day campfire in Kitzbuhel, Austria on Saturday the 25th of January.

The reviews

This week we had a very special review. We reviewed a unicorn, the Oliva Masterblend 1 Churchill. But it’s not the kind of review you’d expect from us. We teamed up with Jay Walia and his Pura Vida YouTube channel. The video was shot at Cigar Bar KL, Walia’s cigar bar in Kuala Lumpur. Our regular reviews this week are the Jas Sum Kral Tyrannical Buc Connecticut Generosos and the Balmoral Añejo XO Oscuro Lancero FT. The last one is the 2019 limited edition from Balmoral.
