Virtual Cigar Tasting for the United Kingdom
Virtual Cigar Tasting for the United Kingdom. After the very successful virtual cigar tasting with Oliva Cigars, the Scottish whisky and cigar retailer Robert Graham 1874 is hosting another tasting. And this time with another New World cigar from Nicaragua paired with a Scottish whisky. For this event, Robert Graham 1874 teams up with A.J. Fernandez, Tor Imports, and Glenturret distilleries.
The event will take place on Monday, May 25th at 4 PM local time. No other than A.J. Fernandez and Steven Kron, the international sales director for A.J. Fernandez cigars will be on during the virtual tasting. As well as John Laurie from Glenturret Whisky and representatives from Tor Imports. Sample packs which include the A.J. Fernandez Bellas Artes Robusto Natural and a Glenturret Peated sample can be ordered from the Robert Graham 1874 website. But in order to receive the pack in time, the cut date is May 18. And the virtual tasting is only available for people within the United Kingdom.

Bellas Artes and Glenturret
The Bellas Artes brand debuted in 2016. The inspiration is the Bellas Artes Museum in Cuba. It sports a hybrid wrapper that Fernandez refers to as Rojita. That is a cross between three strains of tobacco: Connecticut 8212, Corojo ’99, and Havana 2000. The binder is a Havana ’92 varietal grown in Quilalí, a region of Nicaragua that has been producing black tobacco since the 1800s. The Nicaragua-heavy filler consists of tobacco from Estelí, Condega, and Jalapa, with some Honduran and Brazilian tobacco added.
Glenturret is one of the oldest, maybe even the oldest, still producing distilleries in Scotland. Documented history proves that the site of the Glenturret distillery has been used since 1775. Other sources even claim that distillation on that spot started in 1717. The Glenturret Peated Edition scores a 76% score on the international rating site whiskybase.com
