SpecialsUpdated look for The Cabinet in Kuala Lumpur
Updated look for The Cabinet in Kuala Lumpur. The cigar and whisky lounge The Cabinet in the Bangsar area of Kuala Lumpur is reopening. The Cabinet cigar and whisky lounge is a two-times nominee for the Cigar Journal Cigar Trophy. In 2018 and 2019, the cigar and whisky lounge made the shortlist. With the new improvements, 2021 might be the year that The Cabinet can win the trophy.

Fresher look
Malaysia prohibited bars to open from March 18 in the fight against Covid-19. A few days earlier, Philip & Ferdy visited The Cabinet to record episode 15 of The Philip & Ferdy Cigar Show. During the Malaysian lockdown, called the Movement Control Order, shares changed hands. Some of the original partners sold their stake in The Cabinet to a new investor. The restructuring of the board ensures the stability of the cigar and whisky lounge.
The remaining partners and the new partner decided to turn the mandatory closure into an advantage. The bar, the lounge, and the private boardroom all have a fresh new look. The private room is now the council room. A different color scheme, more red and gold. Jeremy Tay, one of the partners and owner of Puros Asia said “think of a high-end Japanese restaurant, that style, but as a cigar and whisky lounge.” Even the logo gets an update.

Reopening
Currently, construction workers are finishing up the last bits and pieces. The owners are expecting to re-open The Cabinet Cigar & Whisky Lounge next week. Until then, The Cabinet offers home delivery for alcohol and cigars via their website. As soon as the borders are open, Philip & Ferdy will visit for another episode of The Philip & Ferdy Cigar Show.
