Over the weekend in Limassol, Cyprus, an exciting event marked the debut of two new Cuban cigars, adding to the allure of aficionados’ collections.

The first of the releases is the El Rey del Mundo Royal Series, featuring a Dobles vitola measuring 6 1/8 x 50. This vitola, known for its prominence in various previous Habanos S.A. releases, such as the Montecristo Double Edmundo and several Edición Regional cigars like La Gloria Cubana Gloriosos, Punch Gran Robusto, and Ramón Allones King of North. Walid Saleh, CEO at Phoenicia T.A.A. Cyprus Ltd., the Cuban cigar distributor in the region, shared that the cigars will be available locally at €22 ($23.74) per cigar or €660 ($712.30) for a 20-count box.

According to Habanos S.A., the El Rey del Mundo Royal Series is an exclusive release available at La Casa del Habano (LCDH) stores globally. These stores, independently owned but licensed franchises from Habanos S.A., receive LCDH-exclusive products, including this new release. Such stores, qualifying through specific criteria like the type of humidor and lounge features, often enjoy priority for initial shipments of new cigars.

The event also showcased the Por Larrañaga Fénix Edición Regional Phoenicia, presented in a 7 1/4 x 50 Churchill extra vitola known as a 109. This vitola features a unique cap, tapering like a belicoso but concluding with a rounded top, resembling a standard parejo shape. Crafted to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the partnership between Habanos S.A. and Phoenicia T.A.A. Cyprus Ltd., the distributor of Cuban cigars in Cyprus and a significant portion of the Middle East.

Habanos S.A.’s Edición Regional program allows its global distributors to commission one cigar for their region each year. The Por Larrañaga Fénix is limited to 6,666 individually numbered boxes, totaling 99,990 cigars. Priced at €660 ($712.30) per 15-count box, equivalent to €44 ($47.49) per cigar, this release is a testament to the enduring collaboration between Habanos S.A. and Phoenicia T.A.A. Cyprus Ltd., which serves as the Cuban cigar distributor for approximately 60 countries across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The introduction of these new cigars adds vibrancy to the rich tradition of Cuban cigar craftsmanship.
