Toothpick Barberpole to be released. Jas Sum Kral is releasing the Toothpick 2.0 Barberpole to a select few shops in early February 2021. Shops in the United States, yet there might be some available for international markets as well in a later stage.

Sweden

The original Jas Sum Kral Toothpick 2.0 Barberpole is a limited edition. Only 1000 cigars, and just for Sweden. And it’s not a barber-ole with two contrasting wrappers for aesthetic reasons. It’s the blend of the Jas Sum Kral Toothpick 2.0 with a combination of the Habano and Maduro wrapper from the regular production line. The barberpole idea stems from a 3-day drinking and smoking session between Jas Sum Kral owner Riste Ristevski and a group of Swedish and Finnish cigar enthusiasts in Florida. 

One of the attendees said, “you should do a barber pole from the toothpick line and call it the Swedish Barber pole. We can smoke it for the Sweden Cigar Championship in 3 months”. After talking to the Swedish Jas Sum Kral distributor, Karl Martin Brix Nelson from Kind Cigars, Ristevski made the call to do it. With his partner in Nicaragua, Roniel Aragon from Tabacalera Aragon, the duo made the Jas Sum Kral Toothpick 2.0 barberpole happen.

Only 1000 of these two-tone cigars were made. 100 of them for the Swedish Cigar Championship. The person who came up with the idea, Pierre Gustavsson, won the championship. The other 900 cigars sold out in minutes at the event.

Toothpick 2.0

The toothpicks are Cuban sandwich style cigars. That means that some of the filler tobacco is Longfiller, other parts are shorter pieces of tobacco. Jas Sum Kral utilizes leftover tobacco from the other Jas Sum Kral blends to make the Toothpick. All the filler is from Nicaragua. The binder comes from Indonesia The wrapper is either Mexican San Andres Maduro or Ecuadorian Habano. In the case of the Jas Sum Kral Toothpick Barberpole, both wrappers are used.

In February 2021, a select number of retailers are selling the Jas Sum Kral Toothpick Barberpole. But there is going to be a pre-release for one of the many ‘cigar of the month’ clubs.
