On February 1st, General Cigar Co. is set to initiate the shipment of the latest addition to its CAO Flathead line, introducing the CAO Flathead Resonator, a remarkable 8 x 60 box-pressed parejo. This release marks the largest regular production size within the Flathead series, demonstrating General Cigar’s commitment to delivering unique and impressive offerings to the cigar aficionado community.

Crafted with precision, the Resonator features a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper that envelops a Habano-seed binder, both cultivated in Connecticut. The fillers are a blend of carefully selected tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. Each element in the blend is chosen to contribute to the Resonator’s complex flavour profile, ensuring a memorable smoking experience for enthusiasts.

Priced at an MSRP of $12.79 per cigar, the Resonator is available in boxes of 24, making it an attractive option for those who appreciate value in both quality and quantity. The packaging itself is a testament to the attention to detail, with the box lid crafted using a plasma cutter to create cut-outs. General Cigar Co. describes this unique feature, stating that the lid doubles as garage art—a nod to the brand’s creative and automotive-inspired theme.

STG Estelí

As is customary with CAO Flathead cigars, the Resonator is produced at STG Estelí in Nicaragua, a renowned facility known for its commitment to excellence in cigar craftsmanship. The Flathead series, introduced in 2015, has consistently drawn inspiration from the automotive world, with each vitola named after automotive components. The Resonator, in particular, pays homage to a critical part of an exhaust system responsible for controlling the sound—the resonator. The box design cleverly incorporates logos within a graphic representation of an exhaust system, showcasing the brand’s dedication to thematic consistency and innovation.

In summary, the CAO Flathead Resonator emerges as a distinctive and substantial addition to the Flathead line, promising enthusiasts an 8 x 60 smoking experience that combines craftsmanship, flavour complexity, and a touch of automotive flair. As it hits the shelves, this release is poised to capture the attention of cigar aficionados seeking both size and sophistication in their smoking indulgence.
