SpecialsTatuaje is releasing an advent calendar
Author: Inspector Z
Tatuaje is releasing an advent calendar at the end of this year. Pete Johnson teased Tatuaje fans with a picture of an advent calendar on his Facebook. And the caption says “Oh this is going to be fun. #tatuaje #holiday #cigars”. In a message to us, Johnson confirmed that it’s finally happening. Johnson says he is not ready to release any details on the project yet. Just that it’s something he’s been thinking about for over a decade.
Advent calendars
The oldest known Advent calendar stems from 1851. It is a German Lutheran tradition. An advent calendar has 25 compartments, with a gift in each. From the first Sunday of the advent, one compartment can be opened each day until the arrival of Christmas. But nowadays most advent calendars use a set date, starting from December 1st until December 25th.
Originally each compartment held a candle, a new candle for each day. But over the years the tradition changed. There are now advent calendars in almost any consumer product thinkable. From whisky to men’s grooming articles for the males, cosmetics, and perfumes for the ladies. And those are just the tip of the iceberg.
There are a few cigar advent calendars. Davidoff is making one each year. And some retailers create their Advent calendar with cigars from several suppliers. For example, Renegade Cigars did one and a part of the proceeds went to charity. Which fits in with the Christmas thought of taking care of others. A German retailer offers the opportunity to create your own advent calendar, with all cigars in tubes in a special tray. The first cigar advent calendar came from HENK though, and there might be another one coming. The HENK advent calendar is a working humidor. But this coming holiday season we will be looking for the Tatuaje Advent calendar for sure.
