Southern Draw Cigars, a Texas-based cigarmaker, is marking its tenth anniversary with the launch of a new cigar named Decennium, which translates to “decade” in Latin. This special release is a celebration of the company’s decade-long journey in the cigar industry. The new cigar is set to begin shipping to retailers within a week, offering enthusiasts a chance to experience this milestone creation.

Unlike previous Southern Draw releases, which were produced in Nicaragua by A.J. Fernandez, the Decennium represents a new chapter for the company. This cigar is being crafted at El Titan de Bronze, a boutique factory located in the Little Havana neighbourhood of Miami, Florida. The factory is managed by Sandy Cobas, who is known for her commitment to traditional cigar-making techniques. The decision to produce the Decennium at El Titan de Bronze reflects Southern Draw’s dedication to quality and craftsmanship, and it also supports the local community, as a portion of the sales will be donated to a charity benefiting the Little Havana neighbourhood.

The Decennium is available in a single size—a Lonsdale, which measures 6 inches in length with a 46 ring gauge. Originally, this cigar was intended to be a retailer exclusive, but due to its significance and demand, it has been shifted to a regular production release. The blend of the Decennium is distinctive, featuring a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper over a combination of Dominican Criollo ’98 and Nicaraguan fillers. The cigar is described by the company as medium in strength, making it an approachable yet complex smoke for a wide range of cigar aficionados.

Packaging for the Decennium is designed to be both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The cigars are sold in cardboard packs containing three cigars each, with a retail price of $44.99 per pack, or approximately $15 per cigar. For its initial release, production is limited to 5,000 packs, totalling 15,000 cigars. However, Southern Draw plans to expand production to around 60,000 cigars, with the possibility of introducing additional sizes and packaging options in the future.

Robert Holt, the owner of Southern Draw Cigars, has expressed enthusiasm for this new direction and has hinted at further collaborations with El Titan de Bronze. This partnership signals an exciting evolution for Southern Draw as it continues to innovate and celebrate its growth within the industry. The Decennium is not just a tribute to the company’s past but also a symbol of its future aspirations.
