SpecialsSmoking Jacket Cigars Finds a New Distribution Partner in Casdagli Cigars
Smoking Jacket, the brand of Hendrik Kelner Jr, moves distribution from Davidoff of Geneva USA to Casdagli Cigars in an attempt to get more traction as Casdagli Cigars is smaller and able to give Smoking Jacket the attention it deserves instead of being one of the many smaller brands in the Davidoff portfolio. Casdagli and Kelner have been working together for a decade as Kelner makes many of Casdagli’s cigars at the Kelner Boutique Factory in the Dominican Republic.
Casdagli will distribute the Smoking Jacket Classic with the red band. Each of the four vitolas has a different blend, with different wrappers and different fillers used from size to size. The Henkie, a 6×52 Toro blended for Henke Kelner will also remain available on the American market.
“The Henkie was more a nostalgia project, using mostly family farmed tobaccos and other tobaccos that we felt very closed to since those were our favourite tobaccos from the 20 years we worked together,” said Kelner Jr. The blend consists of an Ecuadorian Corojo wrapper over Dominican Monteplata binder. The fillers come from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua.
The Smoking Jacket Limited Edition II Gran Toro is also available, although this is not a limited edition anymore. Even though it’s a regular production, the name is still Limited Edition II Gran Toro.
