NewsSetting Sail with The Caravel: Cayman Cigar Co.’s Tribute to Tradition and Philanthropy
Author: Inspector X
Cayman Cigar Co. introduces a novel addition to its repertoire with “The Caravel,” a cigar named in homage to the Portuguese ships that ushered Europeans into the New World. The company has collaborated with TABACALERA LA ISLA, the factory of Hostos Quesada, in the Dominican Republic for this venture, crafting a unique blend that features an Ecuadorian Connecticut-seed wrapper, a Dominican binder, and fillers sourced from the Dominican Republic and Nicaragua. The result is a meticulously curated smoking experience encapsulated in a single 5 1/4 x 50 robusto size.
Proudly presenting an MSRP of $12, The Caravel is available for enthusiasts in boxes containing 10 cigars each. Scott Haugh, the director of Cayman Cigar Co., expressed excitement about the collaboration in a press release, emphasizing that the partnership transcends the realm of cigars, symbolizing a fusion of traditions, expertise, and a collective dedication to delivering the pinnacle of quality to aficionados.
Notably, Cayman Cigar Co.’s earlier lines were exclusively rolled in Grand Cayman. The company, spearheaded by Granger Haugh and John Lemuel “Lem” Hurlston, has expanded its distribution to encompass over 20 stores across the Cayman Islands and the United States. Moreover, Cayman Cigar Co. distinguishes itself by committing all its profits to charitable causes. These initiatives include supporting entrepreneurship opportunities for marginalized populations, aiding American veterans, and contributing to addiction recovery efforts. The launch of The Caravel stands as a testament to Cayman Cigar Co.’s ongoing dedication to both the craft of cigar-making and making a positive impact through philanthropy.
