Royal Agio launches San Pedro de Macoris Nicaragua in The Netherlands. The cigars should be available this week. It’s the third San Pedro de Macoris blend that will be available in Royal Agio’s home country.

San Pedro de Macoris

The cigars are a tribute to the rollers at the Royal Agio factory on the Dominican Republic. The factory is located in the town of San Pedro de Macoris. That’s why Royal Agio picked the name for the brand. And that brand now has four blends.

The San Pedro de Macoris Nicaragua is the third blend available in The Netherlands. The other blends are the San Pedro de Macoris Ecuador and Brazil.

San Pedro de Macoris Nicaragua is made with Dominican and Brazilian filler tobaccos. The binder is Dominican. The wrapper is from Nicaragua, as the name suggests. There will be three sizes available, all in boxes of 20 cigars. The sizes are Gran Toro, Robusto, and Perla. The fixed prices in The Netherlands are €5,20 for the Gran Toro, €4,60 for the Robusto, and €3,20 for the Perla.

Royal Agio

Royal Agio cigars is a Dutch company, still family-owned after more than a century. The Wintermans family, who founded Agio in 1904, are still running the show with Boris Wintermans as CEO nowadays. Where they made a name with their machine-made cigars, the last few years the focus is more on the premium lines. The Balmoral Añejo line has received high ratings from all over the world.

We recently reviewed the Balmoral Añejo XO Gran Toro, Balmoral Añejo XO Connecticut Rothschild Massivo, and the Balmoral Dueto Robusto. The Balmoral Dueto is a collaboration with Ernesto Perez Carrillo and not available on the European markets yet. Last week, Royal Agio and La Flor Dominicana showed of their collaboration Paso Doble. That cigar is only available in the United States for now.
