Rocky Patel releasing another winter collection. It’s the third installment of the Winter Collection and the first one released in 8 years. The first Rocky Patel Winter Collection saw the light in 2009.

Back then, Rocky Patel announced a limited edition for each of the seasons. The cigars were made in Nicaragua, at Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez. The new release comes from Patel’s factory Tavicusa in Esteli, Nicaragua. In between the 2009 and 2020 releases, there was another. The 2012 Rocky Patel Winter Collection was limited to 2000 boxes per size. The cigars were box-pressed instead of round. With a different blend from the original release.

The new release is round again and again limited in supply. The fillers for the cigars hail from Nicaragua and Honduras. Add a Nicaraguan binder and a Mexican San Andres wrapper, and you have the blend. The original release in 2009 had a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper.

Four sizes are offered. The smaller is the Rocky Patel Winter Collection Corona with a size of 5½x42. The robusto measures 5½x50. Then there is a 6½x52 Rocky Patel Winter Collection Toro. Finally, there is a 6×60 Gordo, a size that is almost standard in every new cigar release nowadays.

Grand Reserve

Two years ago, Rocky Patel introduced the Rocky Patel Grand Reserve in three sizes. A 5½x50 Robusto, a 6×52 Toro, and a 6×60 Sixty. Patel released the cigars as an exclusive for the international markets. And with success, as Cigar Journal named it ‘Cigar of the year 2018’.

American cigar enthusiasts no longer have to order the cigars from abroad. Rocky Patel Premium Cigars is bringing the blend to the United States as well. The cigars are made in Nicaragua, at Patel’s Tavicusa factory. The blend of the cigars is undisclosed.
