Two new Regional Edition cigars have been released exclusively for the Asia Pacific region of the global Cuban cigar market. The Sancho Panza El Rey is a long, thin lancero-sized cigar, and the much thicker Diplomaticos PCC 30th celebrates 30 years of Pacific Cigar Co., the region’s official Habanos distributor.

The Diplomaticos PCC 30th measures 5 1/2 inches by 56 ring gauge and is the same size as the Hoyo de Monterrey Le Hoyo de Río Seco. It comes in 30-count cabinets and retails for HK$660 per cigar (about $84). Only 3,000 boxes are being released. The Sancho Panza El Rey, on the other hand, is 7 1/2 by 38, the same size as the Cohiba Lancero, and comes in cabinets of 50. It retails for HK$388 apiece (about $50). Only 2,000 boxes will be produced.

Pacific Cigar Co. distributes Cuban cigars to most of Southeast Asia, including Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Vietnam, New Zealand, Australia, and Hong Kong. The Asia Pacific region is the second-largest market for Habanos S.A. (after Europe), making up 19.3 percent of its sales by volume.

Cigar collectors may be pleased with these new offerings, which pay tribute to the region’s cigar culture while offering unique flavours and experiences. The Sancho Panza El Rey’s lancero shape is known for its complex flavours, and the Diplomaticos PCC 30th’s commemorative secondary band adds an extra layer of exclusivity to this special release. With limited box releases, these cigars are sure to be highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts alike.
