Protocol expands Sir Robert Peel Line. The Sir Robert Peel Line is part of the Lawmen series. It is named after the former British minister and prime minister Sir Robert Peel. As minister of home affairs, he modernized the London Metropolitan Police Force. Because of that, many consider him the founder of Scotland Yard. The first of the Lawmen series was released in 2018, later followed by Elliot Ness.

Corona Gorda

Both the Sir Robert Peel Natural and Maduro will now also be available as a 5⅝x46 Corona Gorda. But round instead of in a box-press shape. The blend did not change. The Sir Robert Peel Natural comes with an Ecuadorian Rosado wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler. The Maduro version has the same filler and binder, but with a Pennsylvania Broadleaf wrapper from the United States. The cigars hail from Tabacalera La Zona, where Mr. Warmth Hector Alfonso Sr. is keeping an eye on quality control. The cigars come in boxes of ten.

There is a release party at the Royal Leaf Cigar Shop in Millville, New Jersey. This is taking place on April 17th and the cigars are available there from that day. The rest of the country, and international Protocol distributors, can start selling the cigars from May 1st, 2021. Protocol Cigars are always thinking of creative ways to try and help their smaller brick and mortar partners, especially during these difficult times. “Being the first shop to make these cigars available to the public will help this brick and mortar shop get ahead a bit. The brick and mortar is the backbone of the cigar industry and it is important to help them out however we can!” says Kevin Keithan, co-owner of Protocol.

The idea

Juan Cancel, co-owner and founder states “Sir Robert Peel was such a different project for us. We wanted to do something out of our comfort zone. It has been such a huge success that we want to expand the Lawmen Series with not only the Protocol Eliot Ness but also with the Sir Robert Peel Corona Gorda. I can’t think of a better size to expand the Sir Robert Peel Line than with a Corona Gorda!”

Kevin Keithan, co-owner adds “This cigar in the Corona Gorda Size is absolutely fantastic. If your a fan of the original Sir Robert Peel, then you are going to adore this vitola. You taste so much more of the wrapper in the Corona Gorda. I think people will be very pleased!”
