Prometheus is now dispatching the Holiday 2023 collection of Fuente Aged Selection releases, marking its collaboration with Arturo Fuente.

The standout item in this release is the Fuente Fuente OpusX Lost City Carlito’s A, a distinctive 9 1/4 x 47 vitola featuring a blend that has matured for over a decade. This cigar pays homage to the 15th anniversary of the OpusX Lost City brand, and a total of 500 boxes of 10 are set to be released. Last week, 160 boxes were shipped, while the remaining 340 are slated for shipment in 2024.

Priced at $77.90 per cigar, $5 from each sale—equivalent to $50 per box—will be contributed to the Lost City Scholarship Fund, benefiting high school graduates supported by the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation.

In addition to this, Prometheus has shipped 160 boxes each of the new Opus5, Opus7, and Opus8 samplers, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the Opus6 sampler. Each sampler comprises 300 boxes, with the final 140 boxes expected to arrive at retailers next spring. The number of cigars in each sampler corresponds to their names—Opus5 has five, Opus7 has seven, and Opus8 has eight. The boxes for these samplers can also serve as travel humidors.

  • Opus5 by Prometheus: Priced at $355, includes five distinct limited-edition cigars. None of these cigars are new releases; all five have been previously featured in samplers or humidors like the Opus22, with occasional availability at Casa Fuente in Las Vegas.
  • Opus7 by Prometheus: Priced at $474, comprises seven different cigars, including familiar names like Fuente Fuente OpusX BBMF Natural and Maduro, OpusX El Escorpion Natural and Maduro, OpusX Purple Rain, OpusX Rare Black Torpedo, and OpusX Tauros the Bull Maduro.
  • Opus8 by Prometheus sampler: (Pricing information not provided) Features eight different limited edition cigars, including both maduro and natural wrapper versions of Fuente Fuente OpusX BBMF, OpusX El Escorpion, and OpusX Tauros the Bull.

Prometheus is also releasing the second and final shipment of 50 OpusX Serie Heaven and Earth Big B Humidors, each priced at $11,000. These humidor sets include 102 cigars, featuring 12 Fuente Fuente OpusX BigB cigars—a unique 6 x 74 perfecto with a flat cap—and a copy of the recently published book, “Arturo Fuente: Since 1912.”

A portion of the sales proceeds from all these cigars will be donated to the Cigar Family Charitable Foundation, supporting its school in Bonao, Dominican Republic. The foundation provides education up to high school, along with a clinic, extracurricular activities, and new schools for those interested in the hospitality or senior care fields. The Fuente and Newman families cover the charity’s operational costs, while cigar sales and donations contribute to running the school and providing essential support to students and their communities.
