Platinum Nova Unveils Trappist 1G: A Complex Cigar Inspired by Exoplanet Beauty
Platinum Nova is releasing the Trappist 1G at the upcoming PCA Convention & Trade Show. The cigars, made at Terranova Cigar Factory in the Dominican Republic, only come as a 7¼x54 Figurado and are made with an Ecuadorian Habano 2000 Oscuro wrapper over a Dominican binder and Pennsylvania Broadleaf as a filler. There might be more sizes and more blends in the future, the company mentioned. If you never heard of Terranova Cigar Factory, it is a brand new facility owned by the family that owns Platinum Nova
The cigar is not named after a Belgian trappist beer but after the Trappist-1 system, 40 light years away from earth. There is an exoplanet with the name Trappist 1G and it’s very close to the colour of Platinum Nova’s branding. “It was introduced to us by Dr. Scott Bolton, a top NASA physicist and the founder of Juno and also a good friend of the chairman of the company, Dr. Amer Rustom,” said Abzaradel. “With that known we were inspired to come out with a very complex cigar, in an elegant shape covered in a beautiful Habano 2000 Oscuro wrapper.”
