Plasencia partners up with Davidoff for the UK. Plasencia is a well known family within the cigar industry, but as a cigar brand the name is quite new and unfamiliar to a lot of cigar smoker. The family has been growing tobacco for five generations. They are the major tobacco growers in Honduras and Nicaragua. Not only do they grow tobacco, they roll a lot of cigars too in their factories. They produce some of the Alec Bradley cigars, Casa Magna for the Quesada family, they co-own Rocky Patel’s factory in Honduras and the list goes on and on.

For years Plasencia didn’t bring out cigars under their own name and brand because Nestor Plasencia sr. didn’t want to compete with his customers. But in the last few years we have seen a number of Plasencia cigars show up, and they are doing great all over Europe. It’s not strange that Plasencia is competing with their clients now, most factories do as most factories make private label cigars too. Joya de Nicaragua produces for Fratello and Dunbarton, My Father Cigars produces for Ashton, Tatuaje and Crowned Heads, A.J. Fernandez produces for Foundation, Erik Espinoza produces for Protocol and Cornelius & Anthony just to name a few.
