Plasencia Cigars comes with new Cosecha. The Plasencia Cosecha 149, as the cigar is made with tobacco from the 149th harvest since the first Plasencia planted tobacco in Cuba in 1865. But of course, the Plasencia Cosecha 149 doesn’t contain any Cuban tobacco due to the Cuban Embargo. Instead it is a Honduran Puros.

The Spanish word cosecha translates to harvest. The Plasencia Cosecha 149 commemorates the Plasencia family’s 149th yearly tobacco harvest which took place in 2014. The Plasencia family felt that the tobacco from the 149th harvest was aged to reach perfection this year. And when the tobacco is ready, it’s time to create this special cigar.

The debut

The Plasencia Cosecha 149 made its debut at the PCA Convention & Trade Show, which started last Saturday in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Plasencia Cosecha 149 is a Honduran puro using tobacco from the Plasencia family’s various Honduran farms. This medium to full-bodied blend features plenty of spice and toasty crispness. That toasty crispness is unique to Honduran tobacco. 

The boxes, with 10 cigars each, boast a beautiful design with a copper foil band. There are three sizes. The Santa Fe, a 4 ¾ x60 Gordito, the La Vega, a 5×52 Robusto, and the Azuacualpa. The last one is a Toro measuring 6×52.
