Emergence, the inaugural cigar from Peter James Cigar Co., is set to hit the market, launching through Luxury Cigar Club, a prominent cigar subscription service.

Originally announced in mid-March and showcased at the 2024 PCA Convention & Trade Show, the cigar was scheduled for an April 15 release. However, packaging delays prevented the timely launch. Now, members of Luxury Cigar Club’s sapphire-level subscription will be among the first to experience the 6 1/2 x 50 Toro Elegance vitola. These cigars are also available for purchase on the Luxury Cigar Club website, offered as singles or in packs of five due to the unfinished packaging.

Emergence features a blend centered on aged tobacco, with fermentation periods ranging from three to ten years, tailored to achieve the optimal aging for each leaf. The wrapper is an Ecuadorian Corojo hybrid viso from the Loja region, an area known for its rich, volcanic soil. The wrapper undergoes a five-year fermentation process at low temperatures, a method required by the delicate nature of the leaves.

The cigar’s binder is a Brazilian Mata Fina leaf, complemented by Dominican Piloto Cubano and filler tobaccos from Nicaragua and the United States, sourced from five distinct regions.

Emergence is offered in three sizes:
• Emergence R 52 (5 x 52) — $60 (Box of 20, $1,200)
• Emergence Toro Elegance (6 1/2 x 50) — $62 (Box of 20, $1,240)
• Emergence Sublime (6 x 54) — $66 (Box of 20, $1,320)

This line is a regular but limited production, crafted at the Luciano Cigar Factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. Each cigar is made by a single buncher and roller, with a strict production limit of 100 cigars per day. This meticulous approach ensures both attention to detail and the exclusivity of each cigar.

Peter James Cigar Co., a collaboration between Luciano Cigars and Peter James Co., was established in January 2024.
