PDR releasing a reblended A Flores CVR. CVR stands for Connecticut Valley Reserve, and that tells us where the wrapper comes from. From the United States. From the Connecticut River Valley. A broadleaf wrapper in two varieties. Lighter shade for the Azul and a darker for the Roja.

But the tweaked blend isn’t the only change. Where the cigars were part of the Flores y Rodriguez brand, it’s now moved. The cigars are now part of the A. Flores 1975 portfolio. The packaging and artwork changed as well.

blend and packaging

Just like the old blend, two versions are available. The A. Flores 1972 Connecticut Valley Reserve Azul and the A. Flores 1972 Connecticut Valley Reserve Roja. The Azul is packed in blue, the Roja in red. Both cigars use a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper over a Nicaraguan Habano binder. The fillers come from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. Nicaraguan Criollo and Dominican Corojo.

The cigars are available in boxes of 19 cigars. For now, only in two vitolas. Those are a 5×52 Robusto and a 6×54 Gran Toro. The original releases came in a 5½x54 Belicoso and a 6½x52 Figurado as well. Those are not scheduled yet but might follow later. The original release also came in jars instead of boxes.

Availability

Abe Flores told us that the cigars will be ready for select retailers in the United States and key distributors in Europe and Asia. Flores said “I’m hoping to start to shipping early November 2020 to be safe. You never know with this coronavirus.”
