Introducing a New Size with Unique Features
OZ Family Cigars, though only two years old, is expanding its Bosphorus line with a limited-edition size featuring a pigtail cap and uncut foot.
The new cigar, named Laguito No. 6, will be available to retailers in September. Measuring 6 1/2 inches by 56 ring gauge, it will retail for $15.95 each. Unlike the core line, which is box-pressed, Laguito No. 6 is rolled in a rounded parejo format.
Limited Release
This limited-edition Bosphorus comes in 12-count boxes, with only 1,500 boxes being released. The blend remains consistent with the core Bosphorus brand, featuring an Ecuador Habano wrapper, Nicaraguan filler, and two binders—one from Ecuador Connecticut and the other from Nicaragua. All Laguito No. 6 cigars are produced at the Casa Carrillo factory in the Dominican Republic.
“When you see the pigtails and the closed foot, it gives more nuance to the smoking experience and I think it really celebrates the artistry of cigars,” says brand owner Tim Ozgener. He adds that the size was created to mimic the Cuban Cohiba Behike BHK 56. “I was really impressed with Casa Carrillo and how well the factory can make pigtailed cigars with closed feet.”
A Growing Legacy
The Bosphorus brand, launched in 2022, marked Ozgener’s return to the cigar industry after a 12-year hiatus. It has since received high scores and was featured in many ‘top cigars of the year’ lists.
