New samplers for Germany. Cigar samplers are a perfect way to try different blends or different vitolas. There are multi-brand samples on the market. There are also samples from the same series with different sizes. And samplers from the same brand, with different lines. Germany will get new samplers paying tribute to one line, and to a brand.

Plasencia

The first new sampler is the Plasencia Alma del Fuego sampler. To get an insight into the Alma del Fuego series, the new Alma del Fuego sampler from Plasencia is ideal. All three formats of the series are presented in a wooden box. The sampler has a price tag of € 48.00 and includes the Candente Robusto (5×50), the Concepcion Toro (6×54) and the Flama Panatela (6½x38).

The Plasencia Alma del Fuego, the “soul of fire”, pays tribute to the volcanic island Ometepe in Lake Nicaragua. The cultivation areas for tobacco are limited and therefore this tobacco is rarely used. Volcanic soil ensures strong and mineral tobacco. The basis of the blend is Ometepe and makes up half of the filler and one of the two binders. The finesse is created by the combination of the sun-grown wrapper from Jalapa and the tobacco from Ometepe, which give the blend a refined sweetness as well as spicy and woody notes. Light citrus aromas complement the composition. The Alma del Fuego is an overall very harmonious blend and fits in wonderfully between the Alma del Campo and the Alma Fuerte.

Alec Bradley

Alec Bradley takes another approach. The German cigar enthusiasts can try four different Alec Bradley cigars in a new Robusto Freshpack. This fresh pack has the Black Market Robusto, Magic Toast Robusto, Coyol Robusto, and the Lineage Robusto. The price is €23.60 and that is a steal. If you’d buy the four cigars outside of the sampler the price will be over €30. Germany works with fixed prices for tobacco.

The Black Market and Magic Toast are amongst the best-selling cigars from Alec Bradley, where the Coyol is a hidden gem. The Lineage is a tribute of Alan Rubin to his sons, Alec & Bradley who are also making cigars under the Alec & Bradley name,
