Stogies world-class cigars

The famous Texan retailer Stogies World Class Cigars from Houston is famous within the cigar community. The show has a reputation for its exclusive series of lanceros from a plethora of manufacturers. And one of those H-Town exclusive lanceros is the Herrera Esteli Connecticut Broadleaf Lancero Tienda Exclusive. The cigar was released in 2016 as a testament to those the cigar aficionados who love thinner ring gauges. Every year Drew Estate pulls aside exceptional, higher priming broadleaf to use for limited-edition releases. Master Blender Willy Herrera meticulously blended this cigar. He used rich Nicaraguan fillers and a bold Mata Fina binder from Brazil. For the wrapper, Herrera picked a high priming Connecticut Broadleaf.

“There is always a challenge to blending lanceros. Sure, you have amazing broadleaf that’s going to really provide that burst of rich flavor, but the trick is how you bunch the filler leaves in a way that provides the complexity, so the cigar doesn’t become one dimensional. I knew when I first sampled this blend it was going to be loved, and now is the time to unleash it through our Drew Diplomat Retailers,” Master Blender Willy Herrera said in a press release.

The cigars will be shipping in September in 15 count boxes. Drew Estate has not stated if these cigars will be available to international distribution partners for the company.

Willy Herrera

In 2011, Willy Herrera joined Drew Estate as the company’s new master blender. But that wasn’t his start in the industry, By that time, Herrera has earned his stripes, blending cigars for La Palina, Padilla, El Primer Mundo, Nestor Miranda, and many more. He did that all from the renowned El Titan de Bronze factory in the heart of Little Havana, Miami. That small, yet famous, factory is owned by the in-laws of Herrera. Jonathan Drew became a fan of Herrera’s blends and asked him to join Drew Estate. Giving Herrera free range to do what he wanted, but on a larger scale than with El Titan de Bronze, it was an opportunity that Herrera could not pass. Since then, Herrera’s reputation only grew, and his skills are recognized by cigar smokers all over the world.
