Nestor Miranda is coming to Malaysia. Well, not Nestor himself but his cigars. The Trinidad Cigar Company is importing and distributing the Nestor Miranda Collection, Nestor Miranda Special Selection, and the Don Lino range. The cigars will be available at several retail outlets in Kuala Lumpur and the rest of the country. The complete range is also available at the two Trinidad Cigar Divans’. There is one in Kuantan and one in Langkawi. Miranda’s Miami Cigar & Co is also the distributor for La Aurora in the United States. Through his connection, a few La Aurora blends will be available in Malaysia as well.

“We are very excited to be bringing the Nestor Miranda cigar line to Malaysia,” says Nazrin Wahab, Trinidad Cigar Company’s Division Head. “Nestor visited Malaysia and our venues in 1998 to launch La Aurora and Don Lino cigars. This shared history makes re-introducing Nestor and his cigars even more special. Nestor Miranda, Don Lino, and La Aurora are well-recognized brands globally and we look forward to improving the brand’s recognition and enjoyment in Malaysia.”

“Nestor Miranda Cigars’ production will also appeal to the Malaysian market as they are produced by legendary cigar manufacturers,” says Hazely Harun, Trinidad Cigar Company’s Head of Wholesale. “The Nestor Miranda Collection and Special Selection are made by My Father Cigars in Esteli, while the Don Lino Africa is made by Tabacalera AJ Fernandez Cigars de Nicaragua in Esteli, Nicaragua.”

Don Lino Africa

In 2019, Miranda brought back the Don Lino Africa line. “Anyone that knows Nestor knows his love of travel, and years ago his travels to the African continent inspired his creation of Don Lino Africa,” said Jason Wood, Miami Cigar & Company’s vice president during the re-introduction. “Africa was an extremely popular line for us. It makes sense that we bring it back to light. From the blend to the boxes, store pieces, and presentation Africa was a complete work of art. Our goal at the beginning was to see to it that the customer can experience all that once again.”

Where the old blend came from the My Fathers Factory, the current version is coming from Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez. Don Lino Africa features a Habano 2000 wrapper from Ecuador, an African Cameroon binder, and Piloto Dominicano, Ometepe, Jalapa, and Esteli filler tobaccos. There are five regular production sizes. Those are a 5×50 Duma, 6¼x52 Kifaru, 5½x54 Punda Milia, 6×60 Tembo, and 4×44 Kudu. All vitolas are box-pressed.

Nestor Miranda

From the Nestor Miranda brands, two lines are available. Those are the Nestor Miranda Collection and the Nestor Miranda Special Selection. Both lines are available in several blends. All the cigars come from the My Father factory in Esteli, Nicaragua.

The Nestor Miranda Collection is available in a Connecticut blend with an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper. Then there is the Corojo, with a Nicaraguan Corojo wrapper. The Habano version has a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper. The last blend from the Nestor Miranda collection is the Maduro with a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The Nestor Miranda Special Selection comes with a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper.

La Aurora

From the large La Aurora portfolio, a few lines are selected to make it to Malaysia. Those lines include the La Aurora Cameroon 1903. As the name suggests, the cigar has an African Cameroon wrapper. The La Aurora 107, with an Ecuadorian Sun Grown wrapper, is also going to be available. The La Aurora Corojo 1962 uses a Dominican Corojo wrapper. And the last La Aurora cigar to make it to Malaysia is the Guillermo Leon. That cigar features an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper.
