Nat Cicco releases the Fifty Five. Although the brand is now officially 56 years old, the cigar to commemorate the 55th birthday will debut at the PCA Convention & Trade Show next month. The plan to release the cigar last year was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic that held the world in a grip for more than a year. Nat Cicco’s parent company Zander-Greg is expecting to distribute the cigars in the final quarter of the year.

Nat Cicco history

The National Cigar Company was founded in 1965. The brand was successful with the brand rejects. That was a series of budget-friendly medium-filler cigars. The current name, Nat Cicco is an acronym of the original name. Up until 2007, the Rejects line was the only claim to fame for Nat Cicco.

In 2007 tobacco distributor Zander-Greg acquired the brand. The company from California has been building the brand ever since. They do so by adding handmade Longfiller cigars under The Nat Cicco name. The Nat Cicci Aniversario 1965 is a tribute to the birth year of the company. But also the HHB Habano Gold, Liga No.4, and Casino Real. But one thing never changed. All Nat Cicco cigars are relatively inexpensive.

Nat Cicco Fifty Five

The new Nat Cicco Fifty Five is not inexpensive with an MSRP of $16 before tax. It is made in the Dominican Republic at Tabacalera Von Eicken. That factory was previously known as Charles Fairmorn and is home to Kristoff and Epic cigars too. Epic was acquired by Zander-Greg in 2019.

Rolando Villamil is the blender of The Nat Cicco Fifty Five and he uses a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The binder comes from Java, Indonesia. The filler comes from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic. The cigars are coming in boxes of 10 sticks. It is a 6¼x60 figurado.
