My Father cigars releases La Promesa. Back in 2001, when Jose ‘Don Pepin’ Garcia left Cuba he made a promise. A promise that he would succeed outside of the Cuban tobacco industry. And doing that while honoring his family and the tobacco tradition.

It’s safe to say that Don Pepin succeeded. And he kept his promise. That’s why My Father Cigars is now releasing La Promesa aka The Promise. The cigar had a soft release of a few boxes in 2016. That was due to pending FDA regulation. But now the line will be released in full.

The cigars will be available in the United States from next month. And the International markets can expect the cigars in September. They will be released at the Intertabac trade show in Dortmund, Germany. Intertabac takes place in the third weekend of September.

La Promesa

The cigars are made with Nicaraguan filler and binder. Those tobaccos come from the Garcia Family farms. The wrapper comes from Ecuador. For the blend, Garcia dark Habano Rosado Osuro leaf.

The line consists of five sizes. Those are Robusto Grande, Toro, Lancero, Petite, and Corona Gorda. The cigars are packed in boxes of twenty sticks. The sizes are 5½x54, 6×52, 7½x38, 4½x50, and 5½x48.

The cigars are made at the My Father Cigars factory in Esteli, Nicaragua. The Garcia family owns that factory, several tobacco plantations and a hacienda in that country. They also have a headquarter in Miami. A small factory is housed there as well.

A few months ago, My Father Cigars, Tatuaje, and their Dutch distributor Longfiller Company came to an agreement. Longfiller Company will act as the European warehouse for My Father Cigars. In the past, Longfiller Company fulfilled that position for Oliva Cigars. But J. Cortes took over warehousing after they bought Oliva. Because of the warehouse, it is expected that The Netherlands will be the first international country to receive the new My Father releases, such as La Promesa.
