Mourtides adds fat Sumo to the line-up. The Greek cigar brand released a 5.9×80 cigar called Sumo R80. And it is coming from Honduras.

The cigars are made in Danli, Honduras. Danli is a municipality in the district of El Paraiso. That’s where a lot of cigar factories are located. One of those factories is Tabacalera A&G Mourtides.

Mourtides told us that “we wanted to create a cigar for the days you just need to pause. To appreciate everything around you and enjoy that very moment with a long-lasting company. So set aside time and indulge in a beautiful smoking experience. This cigar is full of complex and balanced flavors”.

The Cigar

The cigar is a Honduran Puro. All the tobacco comes from the Latin American country. The wrapper is a Honduran Corojo wrapper in a beautiful Colorado shade, that pairs well with the white cigar ring with the platinum embossed details. The inspiration for the ring comes from championship belts.

The cigars come in boxes of 12 pieces. A box has a set sales price of €144. That makes each cigar €12. The brand is only for sale in the mediterranean country of Greece.

A & G Mourtides Cigars

A&G Mourtides is the brand of father and son team Georgios and Anastasios Mourtides, two Greek cigar aficionados with a long history in tobacco. A long history as their forefathers were tobacco growers in the Caucasus in the 19th century, employing over fifty families before political and economic turmoil drove the family out of the tobacco trade.

In the late 1990s, the father & son team started talking about their own brand. They visited Central America, learning all about tobacco growing, fermenting, aging, blending and rolling. In 2007, their dream became true when they started making their A&G Mourtides brand in Honduras.
