Montecristo Short now available in Germany. The Habanos distributor 5th Avenue introduced the Montecristo Short. The cigars, packed in cardboard flip-boxes of 10 puritos, are the third “short” available on one of the bigger cigar markets in the world
In 2016, 5th Avenue introduced the Cohiba Short to Germany. Two years later, in 2018, Trinidad Short followed. And exactly 2 years after that, the Montecristo Short is release. Since Habanos has a few more brands that produce cigars in this exact size, we can guess what will be introduced in 2022. Our guess: Partagas. But Guantanamera, H. Upmann, La Gloria Cubana, Quintero, Romeo y Julieta, and San Luis Rey are also available in this 4⅛x29 size.
Machine-made cigars
Cuba is world-famous for the premium hand-made cigars. Yet, the country also produces machine-made cigars. The Cohiba Short, Montecristo Short, and the other brands mentioned above are machine-made short fillers. All these cigars are made at Internacional Cubana de Tabacos SA in Havana. That’s the production facility of Cubatobaco for machine-made cigars.
For these small short fillers, Cubatabaco uses the clippings of the premium handmade products. So a Montecristo Short is filled with clippings of the regular, handmade Montecristo longfiller. For the Cohiba Short, clippings of the Cohiba long-fillers are used. And so on for all the brands. Unlike the premium handmade long-fillers, the machine-made cigars are cellophane wrapped. A box of 10 has a fixed price tag of € 12.40 in Germany. The Montecristo Short now available in Germany. The cigars are already in Germany and are being distributed to retailers across the country. Right in time for the colder months. And that’s the perfect time to launch a short, quick, smoke.
