Montecristo L’Esprit Unveiled: S.T. Dupont Crafts Limited-Edition Humidors to Mark 150 Years
In late January, Intertabak AG, the distributor for Habanos S.A. in Switzerland, unveiled the Montecristo L’Esprit—a new cigar and a collection of humidors crafted by S.T.Dupont to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the esteemed French humidor and accessories manufacturer. The first humidor in this series, named Le Crépuscule, is poised to hit stores next week, debuting at La Casa del Habano stores and select Habanos Specialist stores.
The project revolves around a trio of humidors—Le Crépuscule, La Nuit, andL’Aurore—each limited to 200 units. These designs draw inspiration from various stages of night, with Le Crépuscule being the initial release. The timeline for the launch of the remaining two designs has yet to be disclosed by Intertabak AG.
Inside each humidor, aficionados will find 50 of the new Montecristo L’Esprit, a robusto extra measuring 5 7/10 inches (145mm) in length with a 50-ring gauge. This vitola, referred to as Preciosos by Habanos S.A., has also been used for the Partagás Maduro No. 3 under the name Maduro No. 3.
Alain Crevet, CEO of S.T. Dupont, expressed the dedication of both Habanos and Dupont to elevate craftsmanship to an art form during the project’s announcement. He stated, “Together, we are bringing the very best cigars and the very best smoking accessories in an exceptional Art de Vivre. This new collaboration with Habanos and Montecristo has been, once again, a pleasure and a flawless experience between our two Maisons.”
Each humidor is priced at CHF 29,000 ($32,920). The collection includes not only humidors and cigars but also lighters, a cutter, and an ashtray, all designed to complement the theme and aesthetics of the corresponding humidor.
