We at Cigarinspector do not appreciate false marketing. For example, we think that Davidoff is going way to far with the Zino Nicaragua. Nicaragua is hot, so we understand that cigar manufacturers like to use the name in their cigars but the way Davidoff does with the Zino Nicaragua is taking it a step to far. The cigar is not produced in Nicaragua, it’s made in Honduras. The cigar doesn’t have a Nicaraguan wrapper, the wrapper is from Ecuador. Only the binder, and one out of the 5 tobaccos in the filler is Nicaraguan. Nor the blend, nor the country of origin give this cigar the right to be called Nicaraguan.

Villiger is doing the same thing with their limited edition Villiger Miami. Last year Villiger released two vitolas in the line and they will release another Villiger Miami again this is, a 5 7/8 x53 Canonazo. But what makes this cigar false advertising is that the cigar isn’t made in Miami at all. It is made at ABAM CIGARS in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic. The real name of the cigar should be Villiger Santo Domingo.

The blend consists of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over undisclosed filler and binder although the company did reveal that part of the filler comes from Peru. Villiger is releasing 1000 boxes of 10 cigars and the cigars will debut at the PCA Convention & Trade Show.
