Meerapfel Cigar has announced the release of a new limited-edition cigar, Création Liberté, which aims to raise funds for organizations that advocate for cigar rights globally. The new cigar will debut at InterTabac 2024, the prestigious trade fair currently taking place in Dortmund, Germany.
The Création Liberté is a 6 x 50 toro wrapped in the Meerapfel family’s signature Cameroon wrapper, with the binder and filler details remaining undisclosed. Production is highly limited, with only 1,226 cigars being made available worldwide.
Each cigar is presented in elegant two-count Paulownia wood chests, priced at $240 per chest in the U.S. and €240 in international markets. Along with the cigars, each set includes a numbered lithographic artwork, adding to its exclusivity.
The funds raised from the sale of these cigars will be directed toward supporting organizations that work to defend the rights of premium cigar enthusiasts across the globe. This includes platforms like Cigar Rights of America, which fight to preserve the freedom of adults to enjoy premium cigars in the face of increasing anti-tobacco regulations.
In a press release, the company expressed concern over the growing challenges facing the cigar industry: “Fierce anti-tobacco movements continue to infringe on fundamental rights and the liberties of responsible adult citizens. Now more than ever, the global fight for cigar rights has become vital for the survival of a multi-century-old cigar heritage, our culture, and traditional craftsmanship.”
Reinhard Pohorec, Vice President of Meerapfel Cigar, emphasized the importance of collective action, stating, “As one global cigar family, we can make a difference; Création Liberté shall contribute to its prophecy: preserving our liberty.”
While no specific shipping date has been confirmed, Pohorec mentioned that the cigars are expected to ship in the upcoming fall months. Création Liberté is poised to not only appeal to cigar enthusiasts but also to contribute to the preservation of cigar culture and the rights of those who enjoy it.
