Macanudo celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Macanudo Gold Label with a 6×52 Gran Pyramid. The Macanudo Gold Label is a seasonal release and the Gran Pyramid will only be available during the Gold Label season this year. The cigars are made with a Connecticut Shade wrapper over San Andres binder and Mexican and Dominican filler. The cigars are made at General Cigar Dominicana in Santiago de los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic.
The cigars are only available to retailers from May 1st until July 29, or before if the inventory is fully sold. How large the inventory is was not disclosed by General Cigars.
There are eight sizes available to stores this year, all are sold in boxes of 25 with the exception of the Crystal—which is sold in boxes of eight—and the Gran Pyramid in boxes of 24. The sizes are a 5×54 Pyramid, 5½x54 Duke of York, 5½x42 Hampton Court, 5½x50 Crystal, 6×52 Tudor, 6×52 Gran Pyramid, 6½x45 Shakespeare, and the 7×49 Lord Nelson.
“Even after twenty years, the anticipation continues to build for the annual release of Macanudo Gold Label,” says Laurel Tilley, Macanudo’s brand ambassador, in a press release. “This speaks to the allure of Gold Label’s mellow blend and the unique creamy notes it delivers. Whether it’s paired or savored on its own, this cigar makes for a great indulgence. I’m looking forward to enjoying it with fellow cigar smokers across the country.”
