SpecialsLa Palina Unveils the Celebratory La Palina 1948: A Collaboration with Oliva Cigars to Honor Chairman Bill Paley’s 75th Birthday

Oliva Cigars wasn’t known to do many private label cigars, but last year the company started manufacturing Allegiance for E.P Carrillo, while E.P. Carrillo made one line of Cuba Aliados for Oliva in return. And now Oliva is making a new cigar for La Palina as well.
The La Palina 1948 is created to celebrate the 75th birthday of La Palina chairman Bill Paley. Paley celebrated his birthday in March, and the cigar will debut at the PCA Convention & Trade Show.
The cigar uses an Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper over Oliva grown Nicaraguan binder and filler. The cigar is a regular production cigar, but in limited quantities each year. There are four vitolas, a Churchill, Toro, Robusto and a 6×46 Diadema which is a PCA Exclusive vitola.
Both the cigar bands and inner box lids feature illustrations of Estelí and Manhattan as they appeared in 1948, as well as an image of Paley during his service in Vietnam.
I am thrilled to have been able to bring this cigar series to life, as it honours both my family and our company,” Paley said. “The 75-year journey I have taken, to where I am now, has been a marvellous adventure. My grandfather was a key figure in starting the company, and this cigar is also a tribute to his legacy and our continued success.
